The same crescent, lifted. A ribbed pedestal raises the bowl above the iftar table so it reads across a long majlis setting, and the domed lid closes over dates, nuts and sugared almonds with a hand-pulled crescent moon on top.

Blown in jewel colours — teal, cobalt, emerald — with the stem and the crescent worked in a contrasting glass. Mouth-blown in Cairo, no moulds, so each foot flares a little differently.
