In our Cairo workshop, glass is still gathered, blown and gilded the way it has been for generations. No molds-only mass production — each piece is shaped by a craftsman, checked twice, and wrapped by hand before it travels to you.

Our story

Grand Bazaar grew from a family workshop in Cairo into an export house shipping hand-blown glass to importers, retailers and brands in more than 30 countries. What has not changed is how the glass is made: by hand, over open flame, one piece at a time. Buying from us means buying from the workshop itself — the people who quote your order are the same people who make it.

How a piece is made

1. Gathering — molten glass is gathered from the furnace at over 1,000 °C on the tip of the blowpipe.
2. Blowing & shaping — the craftsman blows and turns the gather, shaping the body freehand against gravity and heat.
3. Detailing — collars, ruffles, handles and stoppers are drawn and attached while the glass is still glowing.
4. Gilding & painting — gold accents, enamel flowers and engraving are applied by hand, piece by piece.
5. Annealing & inspection — every piece cools slowly to release stress, then passes two quality checks before packing.

Small variations in colour, thickness and form are not defects — they are the signature of genuine handmade glass, and the reason no two of your customers will ever hold identical pieces.

Packaging & the replacement promise

Each piece is individually wrapped, then packed in reinforced export cartons with honeycomb dividers. Cartons are drop-tested and labelled for fragile air and sea handling. And if anything still breaks in transit, we replace it or credit it on your next order — no negotiation needed.
