Egyptian Glass Mabkhara — Taj · Ruffled Blossom Collar, Engraved, 15 & 20 cm (Model 123)

The blossom mabkhara — our most-viewed piece, and the one importers reorder. Now in two sizes.

Taj, “crown”, is a footed mabkhara named for its ruffled, gold-rimmed collar: pinched open by hand while the glass is still hot and traced in 24K gold, it sits on the piece like a crown. The body is wheel-engraved and banded in gold at the shoulder and the foot, so the bakhoor smoke rises through a piece that reads as an ornament first and a burner second.

Two sizes

• 20 cm — $25: engraved with a frosted blossom spray. It holds a shelf on its own: the majlis, the entrance console, the hotel suite.
• 15 cm — $20: engraved with wheat ears and leaves, and fitted with a perforated gold tray that lets the charcoal breathe. Sized for side tables, gift boxes and a row of burners along a majlis.

Each burner is blown, engraved and gilded by hand in our Cairo workshop; no two ruffles fall the same way — the signature of the craft.
